Changes to the familiar Hamster Kombat experience in the lead-up to the airdrop. Here’s what players can do in the meantime.
Hamster Kombat has concluded its latest season with a snapshot of players’ progress, as the Telegram tap-to-earn game prepares for the launch of its HMSTR token and subsequent airdrop on September 26. The game has now entered an “interlude season.”

During this interlude, many familiar features have been temporarily removed while developers calculate players’ airdrop allocations. In-game coins and the main screen tapping feature are no longer available. Additionally, the list of crypto exchange upgrades and the Mine menu have been removed.
Players can now earn in-game diamonds by participating in both native and partnered games, inviting friends, following the game’s social media accounts, and watching Hamster Kombat videos on YouTube. A new Mine submenu in the Playground gaming menu allows players to purchase and upgrade startup-themed cards with diamonds, which can then be used to earn more diamonds.
The purpose of these changes remains unclear. Hamster Kombat’s developers have promised a new season of play-to-earn rewards following the airdrop, but this interlude appears to be a transitional phase in preparation for the HMSTR token launch.
The HMSTR token will be generated on The Open Network (TON) on September 26, with airdrop allocations expected to be disclosed to players beforehand. With over 300 million players to date and approximately 100 million active players in the past month, TON developers have cautioned that the airdrop demand could potentially impact the network.
